Dorothy W. Ostmann, nee Schaefer, of Saint Charles, Missouri, passed away on Friday, January 4, 2019, at the age of 86. Beloved wife of the late John Henry Ostmann; cherished daughter of the late Alvin and Hilda Schaefer; devoted mother of Larry (Shirley) Ostmann, Wanda Ostmann, Debra (Michael) O’Rourke and Mark (Michele) Ostmann; loving grandmother of Emily (Jake) Myers, Martin (Megan) Ostmann, Anna (Dave) Rice, Erin (Jeff) Theobald, Joseph (Brittany) O’Rourke, Eric (Jennifer) Ostmann, Dustin (Sara) Ostmann, Dylan Ostmann, and Rainna Ostmann; treasured great-grandmother of Jack, Ella, Luke, Jacob, Liam, Kinley, Julian, Henry, Teddy, William, Fritz, and John; dear sister of Verna (late Harold) Hackmann, the late Erwin and Eunice (Krause) Schaefer, the late Irene and Clarence Gronefeld and the late Harold and Amanda Schaefer; loving sister-in-law of the late Arline and Kenny Dunkmann, Geneva (late Fred) Willbrand, David Paul (late Eunice) Ostmann, Orville and Harriet Ostmann and Donna (late Norbert) Heitgerd; and many nephews, nieces, cousins and dear friends.
Dorothy was a faithful member of Zion Lutheran Church, where she was a participant in the Birthday Club #2 and the Zion Lutheran Ladies Aide Society. She loved sewing quilts and made one for each family member. Dorothy also loved baking pies and taking care of her home and farm. She especially enjoyed luncheons and playing cards with her family and church groups. Dorothy will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
