Dorothy Lou Wilson

Dorothy Lou Wilson, of St. Peters, Missouri, passed away Sunday, January 3, 2021 at the age of 87.  Loving wife of the late Dorsey G. Wilson; beloved daughter of the late Ella Mae and Ed Baker, Sr.; devoted mother of Steven G. (Holly) Wilson, Vicki Gallagher, Kathy (Michael) Povis, and Kim King; cherished grandmother of Ryan (Sarah Bowles) Wilson, Dan Gallagher, Katie Davies, Brenton (Kaleen) Povis, Ginger (Luke) Kluender, Tyler King, and Hailey King; treasured great-grandmother of Seamus Wilson, Tuva Wilson, Alanna Gallagher, Cameron Gallagher, Gabriel Davies, Ellianna Davies, Kirala Povis, Aralae Povis, Izenne Povis, and Pemberley Kluender; dear sister of Bette (the late Walter “Amy”)  Sewell.  Dorothy was preceded in death by her siblings, Noble Dean Herbst, Marshall Baker, James Baker, Ed Baker, Jr., Bertha Mae Baker, and Fennewald “Gete” Marguerite Mongler.

Dorothy met the love of her life while still in high school in Mexico, MO.  They were married shortly after she graduated, while he was serving in the U.S. Air Force.  They had a wonderful marriage of 43 years and cherished every day together.

Dorothy will be remembered as always being very kind to everyone.  She loved to be around people and made them feel special, because she truly enjoyed their company.  She was a strong woman who endured a lot through her years, and was a 25 year breast cancer survivor.  As a social butterfly, Dorothy liked to dance, and when the music was playing she loved to get up and move to the beat.

Dorothy loved spending time with her family.  She looked forward to yearly family vacations to Panama City Beach, FL, and played Goofy Golf on every visit.  She traveled to Washington state to visit her brother and remembered picking strawberries together.  She also visited Mexico, MO at least once a month to see her family.  She and her husband ventured to Las Vegas with her sister, which was so much fun she talked about it for years.

She enjoyed a good glass of white zinfandel wine after dinner while she relaxed at the end of the day and watched her TV shows, especially Days of Our Lives.  In her spare time, Dorothy also liked to curl up with a good mystery novel.  She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Memorial contributions may be made in Dorothy's name to Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
