Donald Grote

Donald E. Grote, of O’Fallon, Missouri, passed away on Friday, June 30, 2017, at the age of 90. He was born May 3, 1927 to the late Emil and Josephine (nee: Kellerhaus) Grote.

Beloved husband of 19 years to Marilyn Grote (nee: Miller); devoted father of Lorie (Joe) Weis and Kathy (Tom) Plasick; dear brother of June Tucker, the late Katherine Flanagan, Judy Seckel, and Ginny (John) Bell; loving grandfather of 6; and treasured great-grandfather of 7; and beloved uncle and cousin to many. He is also preceded in death by Martha Jean Grote.

Don spent 41 years as a truck driver for Be-Mac Transport Company before retiring. He will be remembered as a strong-willed, kind and loving man. Don enjoyed cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals. He was also a talented bowler, with a perfect 300 game to his name. Most of all, Don enjoyed the time spent with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was deeply loved and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
