Donald F. “Don” Graveman
November 26, 1926 — July 7, 2017
Donald Fred Graveman, 90, of St. Charles, Mo., died Friday, July 7, 2017. Donald was born Nov. 26, 1926, in St. Charles to John Fred and Margaret (Saettele) Graveman. He is preceded in death by his parents, his grandson Thomas Vollmar and his first wife, Lucy (Heck) Graveman. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Agnes (Enright) Graveman, whom he married in 1973.
Donald enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1944, was selected for the Army Specialized Training Program and served in both World War II and the Korean War. He served in World War II as Second Lieutenant, Defense Attorney and was discharged in 1952 as First Lieutenant. He studied both at Kansas University and the University of Wyoming. He received a degree in Industrial Engineering from Saint Louis University.
Donald is survived by his sons and daughters and their families: Mary (Sam) Losapio, Jo Ann (Will) Trogdon, William (Kathy) Graveman, Martha (Mike) Young, Donald (Dianna) Graveman, Kathleen (Marty) Vollmar, and Susan (Dan Lange) Graveman. His children, 23 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren all enjoyed his math and science lessons, his humor and his root beer floats. Donald’s love and dedication to his family was the primary focus of his life.
Don, his wife, Agnes, William and Kathy established Magnatech Engineering Inc., joined later by his grandson Michael. Don founded several other successful businesses, and held 14 patents and numerous publications.
He was a member of the VFW and American Legion. He was in a Science Club, and met his friends at Bob Evans almost every morning for breakfast for 30+ years.
Donald, also known as Dad, Grandpa, Paw-Paw, Boom and Boom the Great, will be greatly missed by his friends and family.

In lieu of flowers, the family is respectfully asking that memorial donations in Donald Graveman’s honor be directed toward the Disabled American Veterans or other organization of donor’s choice.
