Donald "Doc" Carl Yates of O’Fallon, MO, passed away at the age of 90 on Sunday, September 20, 2020. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of fifty-three years, Betty Ann Yates; his son, Ricky Allen Yates; his parents, Amos and Mattie Yates; and his three sisters, Jewel Julien, Gerry Zang, and Helen “Sissy” Yates and his three brothers, Jack Yates, Bill Yates and Walter Yates.
Doc is survived by his children, Deborah Lea Jackson and Michael Yates and daughter in-law Chrissy Yates; his grandchildren, Cammie Dillick, Joe Yates, Chrissy, Tammy, and Crystal; his great-grandchildren, Joshua and Jessi Dillick and Brandon Dillick; his great-great-grandchild, Jason Dillick; and many treasured brother and sister in-laws, nephews, nieces and dear friends.
Doc proudly served his country in the US Army Airforce during the Korean War. He was an active member of Berea Lutheran Church where he faithfully served as a head usher for over 35 years and also worshiped at Holy Cross Lutheran. Doc worked for the Teamsters for thirty years and, after retirement, he greatly enjoyed the time he spent with his family and the memories they made together. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
