Diana Mues

January 4, 1933 — August 28, 2019

Diana Mues (nee Verlinick), of St. Charles, MO passed away peacefully, August 28, 2019.  She was born to the late Nicholas and Mary Verlinick (nee Molnar), January 4, 1933 in St. Louis, MO.  Diana graduated from McKinley High School, St. Louis, MO in 1951.

In 1954 she was swept off her feet by the late William Edward Mues who preceded her in death in April 1995.  Being never the bridesmaid only the bride, Diana married for a 2nd time to Marvin Deubel in 2004 who was called home in December 2017.

While a necessity in her youth growing up during the Depression, Diana had a passion for sewing and for being self-sufficient that she carried throughout her whole life. She was way ahead of her time, and had a knack for upcycling and design as evidenced by the many pieces of furniture that was converted into other furnishings, or a wall that she would tear down, rebuild, only to tear it down again.

In her younger years Diana was a stay-at-home mom, and an immaculate housekeeper who never allowed a dirty dish to sit on the counter before the ice melted.  She loved anything in life that started with the letter “B” (Bible, Bingo, the Boat, Bowling, Bungo, and Baking).

She was employed at Fairmount Racetrack in the 1970-80s and had basic philosophies regarding work “careers are for the unimaginative“ and, “do a day’s work to be proud of” and if not, win a little money while you’re there.

Diana leaves behind four unique children whom she endured over the years and was very proud of: William C. Mues her oldest son (“the best bass player in St. Louis”); her son Nicholas Mues, dubbed her favorite; David Christian, the son who taught her life lessons; and her daughter Mary Ann Webster (nee Mues) who shared her sense of humor.

She also leaves behind her son-in-law Carl Webster who she adored more than her own children; an incredible daughter-in-law, Amy McKee; four grandchildren: Keith Everett; Nick Mues; Katie Mues, and Peter Mues whose accomplishments she was very proud of, and of the incredible people they have grown up to be. She has two surviving siblings Nicholas Verlinick and Daniel Verlinick of St. Louis, MO, and predeceased by Mildred Machin (nee Verlinick) of Sacramento, CA.

Contributions in Diana's name may be made to the American Cancer Society.
