Dennis Charles Black

Dennis Charles Black of Saint Charles, MO, passed away on Saturday, July 28, 2018, at the age of 75. Beloved husband of the late Nancy Black; cherished son of the late Charles and Bonnie Black; devoted father of Michelle Black and Christine (Sean) Halligan; loving grandfather of Ryker and Duncan Halligan; and dear uncle of John Scott (Karen) Black. Dennis was also preceded in death by his siblings William Scott Black and Shirley Meers.

Dennis devoted more than 35 years shaping the minds of growing youth at Hazelwood West High School as an English Teacher. A leader in both life and in his profession, he also served as Past President of the local branch of National Educators Association, Past President of the History Club, and Past President of the St. Charles School Board. He loved dabbling in photography, cooking up scrumptious meals, and playing a few games of tennis. Above everything else, he loved his family dearly and spent as many moments as possible making cherished memories to last a lifetime. He will be remembered for his generous, witty but kind, and full of life personality. Dennis will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
