Cy proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. After serving in the Army and the Army Reserves, he worked for Mossinghoff Plumbing for many years. Then, he took a job as a maintenance engineer at Noah’s Ark Restaurant of St. Charles where he worked for over 18 years. Cy then went on to work as a riverboat Captain for the Spirit of St. Charles, the Huck Finn, and the Tom Sawyer. From there, he and his wife moved to Defiance, MO where he worked as a caretaker and maintenance engineer for 20 years at Boone Valley Farms. Cy has always been very active in the Catholic church. He was an active member of All Saints Catholic Church of St. Peters for many years, and then became an active member of Immaculate Heart of Mary in New Melle, MO in his later years. He was also very active in the Knights of Columbus, and awarded the title of 4th Degree Grand Knight.

Cy was also a very proud and loving family man. When his children were younger, he spent a lot of his time working with the Boy Scouts. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, and watching the St. Louis Cardinals and Western films, especially those starring John Wayne. Cy was a man of many talents. He enjoyed building and making crafts. He even helped to build a house boat that he and his family were able to enjoy on the Mississippi and Missouri Rivers. He will be fondly remembered for “Duffy’s Tavern”, making apple butter with his family, cooking breakfast for his family, and his loving smile. Cy was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
