Curtis W. Burkemper

Curtis W. Burkemper, of O’Fallon, MO, fortified with the sacraments of the Holy Mother Church, passed away Saturday, February 29, 2020 at the age of 85. Loving husband of the late Joan M. Burkemper; beloved son of the late Felix and Clara Burkemper. Devoted father of Matthew (Sandra) Burkemper and the late Michelle (Scott survives) Luecal; cherished grandfather of Kristen (Garret) Richardson, Melissa (Andy) Schomaker, Adam (Alycia) Ward, Mackenzie Burkemper, and Morgan Burkemper; treasured great-grandfather of Luci Richardson, Ryan Richardson, Jake Richardson, Trison Kendall, Jackson Schomaker, Anderson Schomaker, and Thea Ward; dear brother of Harold (Diane) Burkemper and Janice (Russell) Dreisewerd.

Curtis was a member of Knights of Columbus. He devoted nearly 60 years of running successful restaurants with Dog n Suds, Burkemper’s Family Restaurant, and Kentucky Fried Chicken franchises. Curtis grew up on a dairy farm and always had a passion for farming.  He farmed the family farm in Old Monroe for many years. He enjoyed traveling with Joan, his wife, and Harold and Diane, his brother and sister in law. He also enjoyed playing golf. Curtis was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Memorials may be made in Curtis' name to Assumption School Fund.
