Cornelia “Connie” Viola Norton

August 25, 1925 — April 22, 2019

Cornelia “Connie” Viola (Tiesing) Norton of Saint Charles, Missouri, born on August 25, 1925, died on Monday, April 22, 2019, at the age of 93. She is proceeded in death by her parents, Edwin and Ellen Tiesing; her loving husband Marvin D. Norton, and her loving son, Dennis L. Norton.

Connie was the devoted mother of Gerald “Jerry” E. (Donna) Norton and Stanley W. (Linda) Norton; dear mother-in-law of JoAnn Norton; cherished grandmother of Kara (Norton) Schubert (Brian), Lisa (Norton) VanDyne (Eric), David Norton (Emily), Sara (Norton) Brown (William); and treasured great-grandmother of  Miles Schubert, Chelsea Schubert, Elijah VanDyne, Naomi VanDyne, Ezekiel VanDyne, Ezra VanDyne, Robert (Bobby) Norton, Nora Brown, and Hana Brown; loving aunt and friend to many.

Connie is also proceeded in death by four brothers and four sisters: Edward Tiesing, Loraine Kuechler, Eleanor Rogers, Raymond Tiesing, Bernadine Weseman, Collene Kleeschulte, Robert Tiesing, and Donald Tiesing.

Connie started working at Brown Shoe Company before she was a stay-at-home mom for several years, and was active in PTO, as well as serving as a Cub Scout Leader. She was then employed by the St. Charles Public School District as a grade school cook for eight years. Connie later went to work for Central Hardware in St. Charles, Missouri, starting out as a cashier and moving into the office manager position. She worked for Central Hardware for 20 years before retiring.

Connie was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church and was active in the women’s guild program; she also volunteered for other women’s groups associated with the church. She enjoyed playing pinochle and belonged to a women’s group that got together monthly to play. Connie had a beautiful spirit and was a loving and kind person.
