Christ Elroy Hrastich

Christ E. Hrastich Age 74, of St. Charles, Missouri, passed away Sunday, July 3, 2022 surrounded by his family. Christ was born on June 16, 1948 in St. Louis, Missouri to the late Christ and Marie (nee Dietsch) Hrastich; beloved husband of Christine (nee Gilmore); beloved father of Michelle Hrastich (Jason Looney) and Christ Curtis Hrastich; dear brother of Richard Hrastich; dear grandfather of Jakob “Jake” Christ Looney; bonus grandfather to Joslyn and Carter Looney; dear uncle and friend to many.

Christ loved trains and designed and built an incredible “Train Room”. He shared his passion for trains with his grandson Jake, who loves them as much as his PawPaw.

Christ was a shop teacher in the Mehlville School District for 25 years. In his youth he was a gymnast, diver and on the swim team. He met his wife at the Carondelet YMCA. They were married on July 15, 1977. He enjoyed playing cards, birdwatching, golfing and spending time with family and friends. He was a lifelong learner, avid reader and a talented artist.

He was the center of all things family.

Memorials may be made in Christ's name to the Museum of Transportation.
