Charles F. Foelsch

August 20, 1944 — January 24, 2018

Charles F. Foelsch, of Saint Charles, Missouri, passed away peacefully at his home January 24, 2018.

Charles was born August 20, 1944 to Glennon and Virginia (nee:  Roesen) Foelsch.  He graduated from Riverview Gardens High School in May 1962.  He married Anita Louise Wencker on December 17, 1966.  He received a degree in Industrial Arts from Northeast Missouri State Teachers College (now Truman University) in May 1968.  Building was his love, and he made his mark on the construction industry beginning with Burton Duenke Construction in 1972. In 1977 he started Apollo Enterprises, Inc. with the late Gene Bax, Sr.  Over the years, Apollo built custom homes, commercial properties, and several subdivisions.  Charles retired in 1999, at the age of 55 to spend time with Anita, and to enjoy his hobbies of playing golf, traveling, and spoiling his grandchildren.

Charles is survived by his wife Anita Foelsch (nee: Wencker), daughter Kris (Matt) Rollings, son-in-law Rick Sieders, grandsons Zach and Michael Thomas, granddaughter Madi Seiders, sisters Carol (Ralph) Cayton, Cathy DeProw, and Cindy Westover.  He is preceded in death by his parents Glen and Virginia Foelsch, and his daughter Kimberly Foelsch Seiders.

Charles, as his family named him, was known to his friends as Charlie, and to his business associates as Chuck, but no matter how you referred to him, everyone loved his outgoing character and fun-loving personality.  He was truly a hoot to be around!

Charles donated his body to the St. Louis University School of Medicine Center for Anatomical Science and Education in hopes that his passing may benefit others.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Charles’ cancer team at SSM DePaul Hospital, Bridgeton, MO; Dr. Josey Page, Dr. Getinet Ayalew, Dr. Venkata Devineni, and the entire cancer/infusion team who helped us on the journey and who’s support and friendship we cherish.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Harvester Christian Church or SSM Hospice.
