Bryan Jay Bopp, 44, of Saint Charles, Missouri formerly of O’Fallon, Illinois passed away Wednesday, August 26th, 2015 at St. Joseph Hospital in St. Charles, Missouri.

Born May 11, 1971, Bryan spent his early years in Belleville, Illinois before relocating with his parents and brother to Brookfield, Connecticut in 1981. He graduated from the Brookfield High School in 1989.

While in high school, Bryan was a four letter varsity athlete and team captain, a member of Who’s Who in American High Schools and maintained a 4.0 GPA.

In 1990, Bryan attended the University of Connecticut. A walk on for the track team as a freshman, he was the varsity hammer thrower, finishing ahead of his competitors in many meets.

Bryan enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1991. He was honorably discharged in 1997. In the Air Force he was a Russian linguist spending time in Hawaii and California. While in the Air Force he married Monica Bopp nee Miller and his first son Devin was born in Hawaii.

After his military service, Bryan and his family relocated to O’Fallon, Illinois where his second son Cameron was born.

While working, Bryan attended McKendree University, taking accelerated evening courses for three years; he graduated Summa Cum Laude in Business Management.

In O’Fallon, Bryan worked as a postage meter service technician for Pitney Bowes in St. Louis, Missouri and then worked as a software support technician. He was currently employed by the Ricoh Corporation in St. Louis, MO as an IT Software Support Engineer.

Bryan loved his family and supported his two boys Devin and Cameron. He was the interim Band Booster President for the O’Fallon Township High School Marching Panthers Band. He followed the activities of both boys, Devin in the marching band and jazz band and Cameron in the show choir and school plays.

In 2013, Bryan married Tracy Hansen of St. Charles, Missouri. They reside in Saint Charles, Missouri along with her son Zion Perry.

Bryan was an active member of Calvary Church in St. Peters, Missouri. He was involved with Biblical Bible Training, softball, basketball leagues, and care groups.

Surviving is his wife Tracy Hansen of Saint Charles, MO. His parents Jane Bopp nee Lumbattis and Raymond Bopp of O’Fallon, IL. His two sons, Cameron Bopp, a junior at O’Fallon Township High School, in Illinois and Devin Bopp a junior at Northwestern University in Chicago. His stepson Zion Perry is a freshman at Francis Howell North in St. Charles, Missouri. His brother Bradley Bopp and wife Allison of Seymour, Connecticut and their daughters Peyton and Madison Bopp. An uncle, James Lumbattis and wife Cathy of Marion, Illinois and their two sons Ryan and Jeffrey Lumbattis of St. Louis, MO. An aunt Joyce Edwards and husband Max of Swansea, Illinois. His mother and father-in-law, Cathryn and Donald Hansen of St. Charles. Sister-in-law, Karen and husband Brian Johnson of Hillsboro, MO and their children Elijah, Owen, and Avery Johnson. Sister-in-law, Sarah and husband Rob Jacobs and their children Morgan, Finn, and Elliott Jacobs. Sister-in-law Emily and her husband Matt Bundy and two sons David and Gideon Bundy of Troy, Missouri.

Preceding him in death are his maternal grandparents Vernon and Mildred Lumbattis nee Klotz of Belleville, Illinois and paternal grandparents Laurence and Helen Bopp nee Nollau of Swansea, Illinois.

Visitation for family and friends will be held August 31st, in the chapel at Calvary Church, St Peters MO. from 9 to 11 AM. A celebration of Bryan’s life will follow at 11 AM at Calvary Church with a light lunch served afterwards. Calvary Church is located at 3998 Mid Rivers Mall Dr., St Peters MO. Burial with full military honors will be held at Lakeview Memorial Gardens in Fairview Heights, IL at a later date.
