Brenda R. Shy

Brenda Ruth Shy (nee Nelson), of St. Charles, MO, passed away Friday, September 27, 2019 at the age of 77. Loving wife of 59 years to Lawrence Leroy Shy; beloved daughter of the late Ira "Bud" and Delma Nelson; devoted mother of Larry Shy and Sarah (Larry) Wallace; cherished grandmother and Nee Nee of Kelly (fiancé Justin Rico) Smith, Wesley Shy, Kyle (Courtney George) Shy, Morgan Wallace, Hailey Wallace, and Austin Wallace and six great-grandchildren; dear sister of Bernice (the late Jesse) Tyndall, Letha "Elaine" (Roger) Holbert, and Ira Lee Nelson; and is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Brenda is also preceded in death by her brothers, Jimmie Dale Nelson and Junior Ray (Edith) Nelson; nieces and nephews, Johnnie Nelson, Jason Holbert, Richard Tyndall, Theresa Miller Tyndall, Robert Nelson, James Tyndall, Susan Shy, and Charlie Shy Jr.

Brenda loved camping, reading, cleaning house, and watching old western movies. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her beloved family. Brenda was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

The family request memorials be made in Brenda's honor to the COPD Foundation.
