Bessie A. Gavura, 92, died peacefully with her family at her side on Tuesday, July 4, 2017. Born on August 28, 1924 in Carlinville, IL, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Varsavia Patniyot Lazarides.
Mrs. Gavura is survived by her children, Nicholas “Nick” J. Gavura (Janet), Michael “Mike” A. Gavura (Kerry), Constance “Connie” L. Weingartner (Larry); grandchildren, Karen (Robert), Meghan (Tim), Dan (Kyla), Matt, Peggy (John); nine great grandchildren; and “grandmother” to many. She is predeceased by her husband Nicholas Gavura, twin sister Tessie and brother Louis.
Bessie was a long-time employee of McDonnell Douglas.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Masses.
