Aurelia L. Rowan, of O’Fallon, Missouri, passed away Friday, December 18, 2020 at the age of 73.  Loving wife of the late John “Edd” Rowan; beloved daughter of the late Frederick and Marie Wiest; devoted mother of Tony (Susie) Rowan, Douglas (Teri) Rowan, Dawn Rowan, the late Lloyd Rowan, and mother-in-law of Tami Rowan; cherished grandmother of Jeremy (Katie) Rowan, Jess (Keith Simpson) Rowan, Jamie (Josh) Sylvester, Nikki (Derek) Bennett, Andrew (Courtney) Hicks, Cody Hicks, Shane (Karina) Hicks, Dyllan Rowan, Mariah Rowan, Amanda (Devin) Sweeten, and the late Ariell Todt (survived by Brennon Todt); treasured great-grandmother of Hayden Rowan, Macie Rowan, Cameron Rowan, Maliya Simpson, Nicholas Simpson, Dahlia Sylvester, Aurellia Sylvester, Aurora Sylvester, Harrison Sylvester, Hudson Sylvester, Mason Bennett, Kale Bennett, Haydan Hicks, Lindsey Hicks, Riley Hicks, Colton Hicks, Skylar Hicks, Connor Hicks, Lakaria Hicks, Jonathan Hicks, Amethyst Sweeten, and Brycen Sweeten; dearest sister of Kevin (Cindy) Wiest, Mary (the late Russ) Harrison, the late Sharron (Bob) Kiser, and the late infant brother, Freddie Wiest; sister-in-law of Christine (the late Jerry) Welch, and the late Ilene (David) Martin.  Aurelia was a dear aunt, cousin, and friend to many.

Aurelia was a wonderful mother, caregiver, and friend to everyone.  Her home was always welcome and inviting, and she loved hosting during the holidays, which were her favorite time of the year.  She loved taking care of family and friends, and when you needed a helping hand, she was always there for you.  She truly cherished her nieces and nephews, and she looked forward to spending time with them as well. Aurelia also enjoyed family vacations, camping, boating, and traveling.

Aurelia was strong in her faith, and as a member of Peace Lutheran, she enjoyed volunteering for Vacation Bible School and the Altar Guild.  She was a treasurer for the Lutheran Women’s Mission League, and she also taught Sunday School.

As a woman of many talents, Aurelia enjoyed making jewelry, sewing, baking with the kids, making wedding cakes, square dancing and attending craft shows. She looked forward to attending shows at the St. Louis FOX Theatre and outdoor musicals at The Muny.  She was also a member of TOPS. She did activities and played cards at Gentemann Manor.

Aurelia will be remembered for her smile and how she lit up a room.  She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Memorial contributions may be made in Aurelia 's name to Peace Lutheran Church.
