Alvin Harold Ahrens, of O’Fallon, Missouri, passed away Friday, June 17, 2022 at the age of 92. Beloved husband of 70 years to the late Delores Marie Ahrens (nee Neithardt); devoted father of Gary (Debbie) Ahrens, Brian (Susie) Ahrens, and Kenn (Angie) Ahrens; loving grandfather of Kyle (Lindsay), Kimberli (Travis), Daniel (Alicia), Jessica (Paul), Joel (Alayna) and Joshua; treasured great-grandfather of Violetta, Wyatt and Mason; dear brother of the late Herbert and Wilbert Ahrens.
Alvin served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He also worked 30 years for the United States Postal Service.
Alvin was a longtime member of Salem Lutheran Church in Black Jack, Missouri and Holy Cross Lutheran Church in O’Fallon, Missouri. Alvin’s hobbies included fishing, woodworking and trips to musical shows in Branson. Alvin also had a lifelong love of cars and had an amazing gift of repairing things which included not only cars, but anything you can think of. There was no challenge too great for him.

Al and Delores were wonderful friends; kind, compassionate and generous. They always invited me to ride with them when we went out with the JOY group at Holy Cross Lutheran Church. I will greatly.miss both of them . I’m very sad.
