Let me tell you a little story about my grandma. When I was younger I would sit on grandma’s lap with a pencil and small pieces of cardboard that she used for her grocery list. Grandma would write down long addition and subtraction problems for me to work through. She taught me how to “carry the one” when adding and how to “borrow” when subtracting. Grandma was my first math teacher! You may wonder why this is significant? I’m completing my 23rd year as a math teacher and to say grandma had an impact on that would be an understatement! I’m happy to know that you and grandpa are back together after all this time. We will miss you! Love you grandma.
