Alan Nelson Birk

Alan Nelson Birk, of Saint Peters, MO, passed away Monday, May 31, 2021, at the age of 64. Beloved husband of 42+ years to Marcia Birk; cherished son of Nelson and Mary Birk (Gross). Devoted father of Marcus Birk, Matthew (Ashley) Birk, and Amanda Birk; loving papaw of Audrey, Adley, and Molly Birk; dear brother of Scott (Darlene) Birk. Alan was also close with his many nieces and nephews, his dear in-laws, and many friends.

Alan was born October 19, 1956, in Cape Girardeau, MO and grew up in Fredericktown, MO where he met his loving wife at Fredericktown High School. They attended SEMO together before moving to St. Louis for Alan to start his career at Southwestern Bell/AT&T where he worked for 32 years. During retirement, Alan began working at Park Place Senior Living community as a driver, where his parents have been living for the last four years. He was a fixture at Lutheran High (where his 3 children and 1 daughter-in-law attended). Alan loved working at LHS at the Scorer table and Press Box for the last 20+ years. He also served as an Usher at Zion Lutheran Harvester. Alan passed on May 31, 2021, after a battle with Pancreatic cancer. Alan was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
