Somatic Grief: Understanding Loss Through the Body
This 2-hour presentation explores how grief is experienced and expressed through the body. Participants will learn the foundations of somatic grief, recognize common physical and nervous system responses to loss, and explore body-based practices that support regulation, resilience, and healing. The session combines education, reflection, and experiential exercises to help attendees better understand and navigate grief with greater awareness and compassion.

Kelly Karavousanos is a compassionate Licensed Professional Counselor, Certified Thanatologist, Licensed Funeral Director, Coach, Educator, and Public Speaker. She has worked for over 25 years in mental health. She is a board member of Turning Point Advocacy Services, supporting survivors of sexual and domestic violence.
