A Message from USN Submariner, Colby Hitchcock, Director of Baue Funeral Service Operations
Spring is here and the weather is warming up. May is a time of year when we typically gather to remember our veterans on Memorial Day.
This year will be different in many ways. We are in the midst of a pandemic which has changed the way we interact in our everyday lives. Children in school at home in online classrooms, drive by birthdays parties, virtual doctor’s appointments, and the like.
This will also impact how we celebrate Memorial Day and Honor those ho have served our country. Many of the events that honor our veterans will be minimized or even cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic and social distancing. Because of this, we at Baue ask our community to reach out to our Veterans and let them know you are thinking of them.
A note, card, phone call or one of the many electronic options available in this day and age. Please be safe everyone, and let us not forget the importance of this day, that was organically created in cemeteries all over our country over 150 years ago. A day to remember and honor all veterans.
