Nancy Hazlett Donley of Lake St. Louis passed away on Tuesday July 26th, 2016. Nancy was born on March 15, 1937 to William and Virginia (Weiher) Hazlett in Dayton, Ohio. On June 23, 1962 she married the love of her life, Paul Donley in Dayton, Ohio. Together they have three children, Laura Donley Fowler (Gregory), Lynne Donley Chrismer (James), and Paul Douglas Donley (Alexandra). She has nine grandchildren; Katherine, George, and Charles (Fowler); Alec, Dylan, and Blake (Chrismer); and Lucille, Eleanor, and Bradley Donley. Nancy’s younger brother Douglas Hazlett (Joan) resides in South Lake Tahoe, Nevada.
In 1959 Nancy graduated from University of Dayton with a B.S. degree and in 1964 completed a second degree with a B.S. in Education. While attending college she was a member of Alpha Phi sorority and the nationally recognized Flyerette squad.
After graduation, Nancy had a career in marketing in retail fashion and later in elementary education. In 1963 Nancy shifted her focus to raising a family, but continued to volunteer in home schooling special needs students with local school districts.
In 1974 Nancy and Paul moved their family to Lake St. Louis. Nancy’s passions were gardening, golfing and sailing. She was a member of the Sailing Club, Pontooners, and multiple golf leagues. Nancy was very proud of her community and served as a board member of several committees including Jardin Du Lac, Par Three Golf Course, and Wentzville School District Parent Committee.
There is a service at Living Lord Lutheran Church in Lake St. Louis on Tuesday August 9th, 2016 at 4:30 pm. Following the service there will be a reception at the Community Association Country Club. Nancy had a great love of all living things and rescued animals. She was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
