McCurren, James Alfred of O’Fallon, MO, on Sunday September 11, 2016, died at the age of 87. Loving husband of the late Phyllis McCurren; Beloved son of the late Robert and Margaret McCurren; Devoted father of Charlotte Ann Wiegert, Colleen (Dan) Pearson, Cindy Mae McCurren, Kean (Donna) McCurren, Sean (Michelle) McCurren, Brian (Scott) McCurren; Cherished grandfather of Jill (Brian), Rachel (Charles), Ryan (Isabel), Sadie (Matt), Kate, Zackary, Lydia, and Jared; Treasured great-grandfather of Ava, Kaylee, James, Danny, Drew, Reid, Emma, Ana, William, and Donovan; Dear brother of Patricia (Bill) Matticks; Brother-in-Law, Jack (KT) Tanner; Preceded in death by his siblings Mavis, Tom, Betty, Bob, and Jack; Step-Mother, Ethel McCurren and Son-in-Law, William Wiegert.
James proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He worked at Southwestern Bell for over 40 years. He owned his own businesses and was a volunteer of the Small Business Association. He was an active member at Assumption Catholic Church and school. James was a member of the Knights of Columbus and an active volunteer for St. Vincent DePaul. He coached softball and hockey for his children and was a St. Louis Blues fan. James loved to fish and hunt. He was loved and will be missed by all that knew him.
